Vodafone Qatar has announced the launch of their Mobile Broadband services. As part of the launch promotion, Vodafone will double the data value from 500MB to 1GB until 15 August, 2010.
USA based Sprint Nextel has launched WiMAX services in seven additional metropolitan areas - also marking the first WiMAX launches for New York and California. Sprint now offers WiMAX in 43 markets.
Alcatel-Lucent has announced the successful migration of the billing system and customer care solution for Egypt's Mobinil.
BICS has been chosen by Palestinian network, Wataniya Mobile for their global roaming coverage through its Instant Roaming solution. The service is underpinned by Dual IMSI technology, which has been developed in conjunction with Belgium's Proximus.
Digicel Bermuda reported that it had suffered disruption during an upgrade to its 3G network over the weekend.
Bulgaria's M-Tel has demonstrated dual-carrier HSPA services, offering a peak download rate of up to 42Mbps. M-Tel currently offers 21Mbps in Sofia. By the end of August this will happen also in Varna, Plovdiv and Burgas. No launch date for 42Mbps was offered.
