­TIM Brasil says that it plans to expand its 3G network to cover 60% of the urban population by the end this year, up from the 35% coverage currently offered.

Sri Lanka's Dialog Telekom has changed its corporate name to Dialog Axiata, matching that of its Malaysian parent company, Axiata Group. The change wont affect its customer branding, which will remain as Dialog Telekom.

Hutchison 3G UK says that it came top in ten of the twelve quality criteria in a mobile broadband survey carried out by YouGov.

Oman's Omantel is demonstrating a trial LTE network at the country's Salalah Tourism Festival. The company also boosted the capacity of its HSPA network in the areas of the Festival to cope with visitor demand.
